Who I Am
I have spent pretty much my whole life in a love/hate relationship with trying to get my finances in order. I think my biggest issue is that I don’t like budgets. I mean I REALLY don’t like budgets. While I imagine they work for some, they don’t work for us, or so I thought. But, you won’t get the same preachy budget push while you’re here.
FinancialMoron.com is different.
Here you’ll read about how my family is doing all of the wrong things while crawling out of debt. Oh you will get to read how to do the right things, but I won’t be talking down to you. We’re in this together. It will be real world solutions for real world problems. There isn’t any make-believe here, this is the real deal.
All of that can be seen on A DAY IN THE LIFE
So, who am I?
Hi, my name is Dave and I’m a Financial Moron and I have pretty much been a financial moron my whole life. My wife is also a financial moron and we have two kids, teenagers now, that we are apparently raising to be financial morons as well.
We have history…
I believe that our condition in particular is hereditary as we both come from a very long line of financial morons. Not just small stuff either, no, no. We have some world-class financial morons in our family. Within our family tree, we have a relative that won a million dollar lottery. They took the twenty year annuity payments. Then only to cash them in JG Wentworth style for pennies on the dollar before their second annuity check. We also have relatives that almost went to prison because they fell victim of a multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme. They did avoid prison, but they lost pretty much everything. While those are some of the big winners, our lineage consists of many upon many smaller financial mistakes.
Some of the credit of this financial moron-ess (new word?) has to go to a lack of financial education during my generation of schooling. I can’t necessarily blame my parents since they don’t seem to be any more financially responsible than I. I just never received the type of financial teachings that I needed to succeed in life, responsibly.
Or did I?
Well, either way, I’m determined to change my lifestyle starting RIGHT NOW. I have been actively seeking out solutions to my financial woes for a long time now. I have received quite an education along the way. Some of it good, some of it bad, and I intend on sharing all of it with you. For free.
I plan to post my entire journey for you to read. With it, you will have my story and what I’m doing to change things. You will have all of the links and information that I have researched and found over the years of trying to figure things out. This will include reviews as well. In fact, anything and everything that I can find on the internet that has anything to do with Budgeting, Saving, Investing, Spending, and even Earning will be posted here. For your use. Sort of a One Stop Shopping of all things financial.
None of this would be complete unless it included a few stories here and there to include some of my history. Presented with my twisted but dry sense of humor all wrapped up in a bow of sarcasm.
I hope you pop in every now and again to check out my progress. Make sure you click the menu option and check under “RECENT POSTS” to see the latest, greatest stuff that I have to say. Additionally, I will be putting up links to cool stuff, money making opportunities and ideas, budget info, and great articles that are certainly worth your time. Better yet, go ahead and follow me here, you can subscribe below, and check out my Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages as well. I promise that if you decide like I did all those years that you need none of this stuff, that at least I can supply you with some cheap entertainment.
Hey, while you’re here and just for fun, let me tell you who I think YOU are. Even if I’m completely wrong, I bet you’ll be entertained by my speculation.
See you again soon,
Dave
