In the beginning….

Welcome

I have decided that the best way to explain what Living the Dream, the Hard Way actually is, would be to give you a ride-a-long. That is, you will come with me on a day to day account of the Finincial Moron lifestyle. A Day in the Life, so to speak.

To catch you up, I’ll start with looking back to when I started this blog. Way back in April of 2018. I have always wanted to write and have been told that I do it well (opinions vary). I never thought of myself as a “blog person”, and maybe I’m not, but I’m having fun with it.

My topic

I decided to write about financial matters because they pretty much consume my every thoughts. I don’t judge wealth by the amount of money that I have, but instead by how happy I am. To be fair though, I would be much happier with more money. So there’s that…

I have never been great with money. Oh like everyone else, I have flash in the pan moments of fiscal genius, but for the most part, the term Financial Moron fits the bill. I am always looking to better my financial status, but I don’t always know the right way to go about that.

From then until now

I began the blog with the best intentions and highly motivated. I was going to fix my financial situation and document my journey along the way. I would share all the info I came across to help others likewise floundering in debt and together we would find greatness.

But that didn’t happen.

Instead, my wife lost her job and living on one income proved to be too difficult to really make any financial headway while still maintaining a decent lifestyle. I struggled, not only financially, but inspirationally. Not only with my own finances, but with the blog . It’s difficult to write about getting out of debt when you’re not getting out of debt.

We’re back baby!!

Recently, my wife found a job. She is struggling to deal with the full-time aspect of working, and she hasn’t received her first paycheck yet, but we are on our way. Now we will get to see some fiscal action. We have plans, big plans. We will be paying down debt while we are still living life, and you will be riding along with us. A Day in the Life.

The future

I will be documenting this little adventure daily. The posts may be short, or they may be long, as I tend to get a little long winded usually. Either way, you will be right there on our journey. With this daily diary-esk dribble, I will be posting up any and all information that I find along the way, just as I had originally intended when I started this blog.

Additionally, I have decided that I will post a little Pros and Cons section at the bottom of each blog posts. I shall name it, “Economic Value”. Only, it wil start with the “Cons” first and end with the “Pros”, because ending on a good note is the only way to go.

Who knows, I may begin doing some video posting as well, though I really have more of a face for radio that I do for video. Hopefully I don’t scare anybody away.

From here on out it will be improptu postings about A Day in the Life. Keep checking back. We’ll see you then.

Dave

I'd love to hear what you think
